KWC Group AG
New light across 26'141 m² of tap production — hall by hall, without a standstill
A step-by-step refurbishment during ongoing operations. 40 % fewer light points, 344 MWh less energy, supported by ProKilowatt.
We recorded every light point on the KWC Group site in Unterkulm, assessed it against the standards and developed a lighting concept from it that keeps the existing infrastructure in use. The refurbishment ran hall by hall during ongoing operations — from production through logistics into the offices, closely coordinated with everyone on site wherever that was needed. All applications are designed to SN EN 12464, verified to SIA 387/4 and fully documented. With 40 % fewer light points the energy demand falls by 344 MWh a year, ProKilowatt funded 30 % of the investment, and the payback is under four years. Because the luminaires in the positions with long operating hours are built ready-to-repair, spare-part management stays assured in the long term.
