Textron Aviation Service Hangars
Where every detail on a business jet counts, the light must not leave a single gap.
6'200 m² of service hangar refurbished — during ongoing operations, explosion-proof zones included.
For the Textron Aviation service hangars at Zurich Airport we completely renewed the lighting while reusing the existing support systems to save material and resources. Because servicing of the Cessna and Beechcraft aircraft could not pause for a single day, we coordinated the work closely with everyone involved and engineered a mounting unit that fits the explosion-proof luminaires onto the existing structure. From the site survey through the lighting calculation to SN EN 12464 to briefing the installers, the full coordination was ours, and the energy verifications to SIA 387/4 make operating costs predictable in the long term. 480 luminaires across 6'200 m² deliver 42 % fewer light points and markedly better visual conditions for the staff — installed in two weeks, amortised in under five years. All luminaires are ready-to-repair: replaceable components and assured spare-part management keep the installation running throughout its entire life cycle.
